Explore the Latest Advances in AI Technology

IBM and NASA, with Oak Ridge National Lab, have introduced a new AI model designed for weather and climate analysis. This open-source model provides a flexible, scalable solution for various use cases, from short-term weather forecasts to long-term climate projections. It improves applications such as severe weather detection, high-resolution climate simulations, and data assimilation. Pre-trained on 40 years of NASA data, the model can be fine-tuned for global, regional, and local use. Two specialized versions are available for download on Hugging Face, focusing on downscaling and gravity wave parameterization.


Digital Wave Technology, AI-native ONE™ Platform unifies product data and AI capabilities, offering a single source of truth for grocers, CPGs, and healthcare companies. It centralizes Master Data Management (MDM) and Product Information Management (PIM) to streamline processes like pricing, promotions, and inventory management. By integrating AI and GenAI, the platform eliminates data silos and enables automation for tasks like product attributes and content creation. This approach boosts efficiency, speeds up product innovation, and enhances profitability and customer experience.


Hewlett Packard Enterprise Aruba Networking Central has expanded its AI-powered network management solution, enhancing security, performance, and visibility. The platform now integrates OpsRamp for third-party device monitoring across vendors like Cisco and Juniper, improving network automation. New features include advanced AI insights, improved network device configuration, and expanded observability. The platform’s data lake now pulls from 4.6 million devices and 1.6 billion endpoints, boosting AI-driven network optimization. HPE Aruba also added security features to address IoT risks. These updates, available in late 2024, aim to simplify network management, reduce deployment time, and enhance efficiency.


HP has introduced HP Print AI, an AI-powered printing solution to simplify and enhance the printing experience. It includes features like Perfect Output, which optimizes print layouts by removing ads and resizing content. HP Print AI also customizes support for users, remembers preferences, and personalizes creative projects like greeting cards. For businesses, HP Scan AI Enhanced automates document scanning, reducing manual tasks, while HP Build Workspace helps design and construction professionals collaborate and manage workflows. HP Print AI is available in beta, with more features rolling out through 2025. HP Build Workspace and Scan AI Enhanced are already available globally.


Nokia  has joined the AI Pact, a voluntary framework helping companies prepare for compliance with the European Union’s AI Act. The AI Act regulates AI systems based on their risk levels and began in August 2024, with full compliance phased in over three years. Nokia’s involvement reflects its commitment to responsible AI use, supported by its AI Governance Framework. The company aims to collaborate with industry peers and the EU AI Office to share insights. Nokia Bell Labs, a leader in AI for communication networks, follows six key principles guiding responsible AI development in areas like transparency and sustainability.


Squirro, a Swiss-based SaaS platform for generative AI and business insights, has appointed Gary Kearns as Chairman of the Board. With over 40 years of expertise in AI, analytics, and business transformation, Kearns brings vast experience to help drive Squirro’s growth. His career includes leadership roles at Mastercard and Experian, and he currently leads Growth Analytics LLC. Kearns’ appointment follows Squirro’s acquisition of Synaptica and investment in meetsynthia.ai, reinforcing its commitment to expanding AI-driven business solutions. Kearns expressed enthusiasm for advancing Squirro’s innovative AI offerings to achieve business growth and profitability.


Cloudflare, Inc. has enhanced Workers AI, its serverless AI platform, to support larger models and more complex tasks, improving speed, performance, and affordability. By leveraging a globally distributed network of GPUs in over 180 cities, Workers AI reduces latency and ensures efficient AI inference close to users worldwide. New features include faster inference for large models like Llama 3.1, improved performance analytics with persistent logs, and optimized vector databases for quicker, cost-effective queries. These advancements make Workers AI a powerful platform for building scalable, high-performing AI applications with seamless user experiences.
